Blueberry Pie + Syrah

One of the most tannin-packed and dark wines around, Syrah deserves a pastry that’s a meal. The viscous texture of the preserves combined with the chewy crust of blueberry pie stands up great to this heavy red. However, as Syrah also packs in plenty of fruit, the blueberry also adds a nice complemental berry flavor.

Apple Pie +  Moscato d’Asti

To end your meal on a lighter note, try Moscato d’Asti, a low-alcohol, sweet, fizzy wine from Italy that’s filled with notes of fruit blossoms and happiness. It’s delicious with all apple desserts and buttery pastries, like Apple Pie.

Pumpkin + Chardonnay

Chardonnay doesn’t play nice with just any flavor and we all know your grandma’s pumpkin pie recipe is unparalleled. However combine a slice of dense, spicy pumpkin pie with a crisp, chilled Chardonnay and you’ll realize it’s a match made in heaven.

Pecan + Madeira

The smoky-sweet essence of a Madeira is the ideal match for syrupy candied pecans. It’s just dry enough to complement such sweetness and makes a rich and warming end to any feast!

Cherry Pie + Doux or Extra Dry Sparkling Wine

It’s hard to find a dessert that sparkling wine doesn’t like but a slightly sweeter and fruitier version is beyond ideal for that “cherry-pie on top” feast finale.  This pairing is so delightful it’ll keep you giggling late into the evening.
